The EAGA Choir joined the Journey on the Olympics Praise Bus which was in aid of the UK's torch relay which was started from May 1927. On July 3, 2012, Day 46 of the 70 day torch relay, the EAGA choir sang all around Leicestershire, staying one hour ahead of the Olympic flame. Starting in Loughborough, we travelled through 6 cities

It is only on rare occasions that you may find students on campus as early as 6:30am. You may find one or two coming from a night shift in the library or job or even a night club. But such was the sense of occasion on this faithful day as we all excitedly and eagerly anticipated the arrival of Her Majesty the Queen and her Royal party, which included the wife of Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge.

On Saturday, November 10, 2012, the small village of Fleckney, located 8.5 miles from the heart of Leicester, welcomed the Emmanu’-EL Apostolic Gospel Academy (EAGA) Choir for a night of bursting sound in the Fleckney Baptist Church with residents of all ages and from all over the village gathered to hear a private concert.

The late Merlyn Vaz was the first Asian female councillor to serve on the Leicester City Council in 1989 and served for 14 years in her area of Charnwood. Since the death of Mrs. Vaz in 2003, every December a Christmas Tree is erected in honour of the mother of MP Keith Vaz.

To commemorate World AIDS Day, the Emmanu'-EL Apostolic Gospel Academy (EAGA) dedicated their entire rehearsal session to raising awareness of the disease and to discussing issues surrounding HIV and AIDS. 1 December 2011

Friends of Medécins Sans Frontiéres (Doctors Without Borders) is a university based society, stemming out the Medical Schools, which helps to raise awareness and money for the Medécins Sans Frontiéres organization. Every year at the University of Leicester, an International Christmas Dinner is put on as a fundraiser for the Medécins Sans Frontiéres to use in their various projects in the world.

For most EAGA Choir members cycling is their way of life and sole source of transport. EAGA cyclists make a considerable contribution to preserving the environment of Leicester and promoting a healthy way of life. So it was only fitting that they were invited to participate in Sky Ride 2009 and have been invited again to the 2010 event.

The Emmanu'-EL Apostolic Gospel Academy (EAGA) Choir ministered at the wedding of Hayley and Andrew on August 21, 2010. The choir arrived at the venue about half hour before the ceremony and set up their equipment. They watched as the guests arrived at the ceremony clad in beautiful dresses and suits.

The sound of the Emmanu'-EL Apostolic Gospel Academy (EAGA) Choir returned to Beaumont Leys on December 18 and 19, 2010. The EAGA adults' and children's choirs ministered to hundreds of people on these days as they (the people) shopped in the Shopping Centre. With no music to accompany them, the choir gave a variety of harmonies that illuminated the atmosphere and prepared the hearts of listeners for the season being celebrated, Christmas, but preaching the message of Jesus Christ through song

The Special Olympics was hosted by Leicester, July 25-31, 2009. The games welcomed over 2700 athletes around Great Britain along with 6000 families. The Emmanu'-EL Apostolic Gospel Academy played an integral part in the staging of the Olympics as the choir was involved in a road show in April 2009 as well as a ministration that was hosted by the choir in the city centre to promote the Olympic games

In November 2009 EAGA took part in an event in aid of BBC Children in Need. BBC Radio Leicester was set the challenge of raising the biggest choir in Leicestershire to sing the "Hallelujah" chorus from Handel's musical masterpiece.
