What We Believe

Here at the Emmanu’-EL Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ International (EAC) we believe that the Bible is the ultimate Word of God, we believe according to the holy scripture that there is but one God who became his own son, came into the world to seek and to save that which was lost, his name is Jesus (John 1:1-2,14). We preach and teach only the Word and doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ which he through the Holy Ghost gave to His holy Apostles (Acts 1:2). As such, we preach, teach, live and do that which the Apostles left on record.

Accordingly, the primacy of the Bible as doctrine is self-evident. The Apostle Paul instructed Timothy “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (II Timothy 3:16). Peter the Apostle, whom Jesus gave the keys to the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 16:19), speaks of the certainty we can have in the authenticity of God’s Holy scriptures, for “no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in the old time by the will of man: but holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (II Peter 1:19 -21). Furthermore, Psalms 119:89 proclaims that the Word of the Lord is settled in heaven forever, while Isaiah 34:16 instructs to “Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.”

It is indeed worthy of note that the Bible is the only manual God gave to the entire human race to live by. So it is of great importance that we use the Bible as the guide to living a life that is pleasing to God. In John 7:38-39, the Lord Jesus Christ in his teaching, taught the preeminence of scripture, promised to give the Holy Ghost to every believer who believed on Him. However, Jesus did not stop there; he proceeded to illustrate the inevitability of believing in what the Apostles taught: “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word” (John 17:20).

The Apostles were taught of God and were instructed by the risen Christ Jesus to “teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you . . .” (Matthew 28:19-20) It is noteworthy beloved ones that the “all things” that are mentioned in this verse are known as the doctrine that Jesus taught the Apostles. The “all things” came to be known as the Apostles’ Doctrine that Jesus taught his disciples and they in turn taught early believers.

The book of the Acts of the Apostles is didactic concerning the practices of the Apostles and offers further insight into what the Apostles believed. Jesus promised his followers power after that the Holy Ghost is come up on them (Acts1:8).

(Acts 1:8). In obedience to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ; to wait until they be endued with power from on high, they gathered together in the upper room in Jerusalem until the day of Pentecost. It was on that very day, they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. Peter who had good understanding in the scripture then instructs those dwelling around to, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call” (Acts 2:38). On the same day in response to preaching of the Word of God by Peter, many glad believers were baptized in the name of The Lord Jesus Christ and about 3,000 souls were added to the Church. Verse 42 declares that “they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

From this passage, we saw that the people (Church) believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and were baptized only in the name of Jesus Christ, through the preaching of His Words by the Apostles. What reasons then do true believers have for following the doctrines of men and give up that which was given by our Lord Jesus Christ according to Acts 1:2 after He (Jesus) was taken up, He through the Holy Ghost has given to his Apostles whom he had chosen commandment, It is indeed this doctrine that Jude exhorts us to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation ungodly men, who seek to turn the grace of God into lasciviousness” (Jude 1:2-3).

What reasons do we have for accepting and following after principles and denominations that do not reconcile themselves to the Apostles' doctrine? Paul said in (Galatians 1:6-10) “I Marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel. Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we or on angel from heaven preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, l should not be a servant of Christ.”

Let God be true and every man a liar! (Romans 3:3) In the end of time, God will judge us according to the Apostles' doctrine. Paul reveals “God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus according to my gospel” (Romans 2:16). As Christians, we at the EAC, must strive in Righteousness and Holiness to ensure our membership to God’s household, which according to Ephesians 2:20, is “built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone.” Knowing this, how can we disdain this great salvation that Jesus offers to us?

At the Emmanu’-EL Apostolic Church international (EAC), we are shining the light unto the world and no man can hide! Our preaching, teaching and standard of living derives solely from the inspired scriptures and leading of the Holy Ghost as recorded in the Bible. According to the fundamental doctrines and principles of Jesus Christ and His holy Apostles, we embrace the Godness of the Lord Jesus Christ. In the book of Revelation 1:8 Jesus declares “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. There is indeed One Lord One Faith One Baptism. There are no denominations in the body of Jesus Christ (Acts 17:26, Ephesians 4:4-6), Repentance and water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins is the only God given formula; receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost living a holy life. Acts 2: 38, Acts 5:32, Hebrews 12: 14.

Amen, Amen, Amen.
